We don't just build websites, we also create and design logos and branding. Previous examples include individuals, small & medium businesses, new startups, bands, online magazines, fan communities, IT companies (*waves at former employer*), bars in popular tourist resorts... Starting a new dental practice on your own after working for someone else but stuck on both a name and design? Starting your own beauty business but befuddled by design? Got a gig coming up but no graphics to go with your grunge? Bark up the right tree. Get Dog.
What makes for good logos and brands?
Your brand name and logo should go hand-in-hand for the most part. For strong business branding, ensure people can identify the logo with the brand name. McDonald's branding, for example, has a pretty straightforward logo in golden arches in the shape of an M. This makes it easier for people to recognise your business. Why? Instead of relying solely on the the brand name, people are then able to recall the visual identity of the brand by associating it with the logo.
Your name and your brand are intrinsically linked, and it can either reinforce the value and service you provide or distance you from it. When developing a name, brand and logo for a business, a product or a service, we consider a number of options:
Use the founder or inventor’s name (e.g. Hewlett-Packard)
Describe what you do (e.g. British Airways)
Describe an experience or image (e.g. Wowcher)
Take a word out of context (e.g. O2)
Make up a word (e.g. Häagen-Dazs)
Trademarkability to ensure there will be no complications from similarly-named companies.
See below for recent examples of our concept work.
Commissioned logo designs
We were commissioned to create a logo for a new bar in the very-popular holiday resort of Hisaronu, near Fethiye, Turkey. Happy to oblige as we know the owner, we took the "Tonic Bar" name literally, swapping out the "o" for a bright green lime. A simple yet effective design that instantly sets the scene for their menu of delicious gins and cocktails.
Our website design work for Farleigh Dental and Farleigh Clinic also incorporated the designs for the logos for both brands. Recently we overhauled the logos to match the scheme of the premises, keeping them recognisable but with modern image engineering techniques.
Concept logo designs
Sometimes we just get an idea in our head and run with it. A beauty salon that is also a tea room and tea shop? Check. A pet grooming salon? Check. Dental clinic? Check. These are just some of our (not-so-crazy) ideas.
