MS Paint saved as Microsoft backtracks on the fate of legendary program
MS Paint will live on. Microsoft announced further development of Paint would cease, and the app might be removed by future Windows updates. Although it will not be installed by default on future Windows editions, users can download the legendary program in the Windows Store, free of charge.
MS Paint, or just Paint, has been part of Windows since Windows 1.0 back in 1985. Paint 3D, a spiritual successor, will become part of Windows 10 with the 2017 "Fall Creators Update". Paint's demise, announced on July 24, created a huge rush of support on social media.
